What Carries Over
The forty-man, options and waivers, service time, arbitration, the Rule 5 and amateur drafts, trades, and a live game called a pitch at a time.
What Is Different
Scouting reports carry error, and the other clubs work from the same estimates you do — difficulty is never information the AI has and you do not. Every rating is read by the engine, enforced by a test. You set the league up from eight parameters, or import a roster somebody else built.
What Is Published
The engine measured against real MLB rates, regenerated by the run that gates each build. 36/36 benchmarks inside range, with the gaps that remain stated on the page.
Bring Your Own Roster
Download the league as a spreadsheet, change whatever you like, and load it back. One file carries the players and the clubs together, so changing the team column renames the league. A file somebody else built works too: headers are matched however your source spells them, and whatever the file does not carry is generated.
What The Import Will Not Do
It will not change the shape of the league. Thirty clubs in two leagues of three divisions is what makes every club play a hundred and sixty-two games, so a file naming more clubs than there are slots is told so rather than quietly producing a season nobody can compare.
Is True Baseball Sim A Replacement For OOTP?
It is an alternative, not a clone. Same kind of job — general manager of a baseball club — in a browser, with a lifetime license instead of a yearly SKU.
Does It Have Real MLB Teams?
No. Fictional clubs on purpose, and a large share of OOTP players already prefer fictional leagues. If you want real names, bring them: a CSV or JSON roster imports in one click, and whatever the file does not carry is generated for you.
Can I Import Real Teams And Players?
Yes. Download the league as a CSV, rewrite the clubs and the players in a spreadsheet, and load it back. The exported file carries a player id, so an edited file updates the men it names rather than creating strangers who share their names. A file built from scratch has no ids and every row becomes a new player.
How Big A Roster File Can It Take?
A full league with its farm systems is about six thousand rows and reads in roughly a sixth of a second. There is no upload and no server: the file is read in your own browser and never leaves your computer.
